Subdivision Design

One of many challenges here was a shallow active layer of permafrost where the geotech highly recommended no excavation including clearing and grubbing. Another challenge was a very depleted borrow source and lack of granular material. Finally, another significant challenge was a steep crossing grade with multiple 'ravines' where the 2 proposed roads crossed. It was challenging to find the right mix and balance of road elevation, ditch direction and grades. Solving drainage was not easy so we ended up using drainage easements.
